[Seoul, 18 August 2026] - KRWQ and NEXUS have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore Korean won-denominated onchain payments and settlement across the ONE ecosystem, including ONEchain, ONEPay, and the global ONE Store.
The partnership explores a new use case for KRWQ: bringing won-denominated payments and settlement to games and digital content, giving developers and publishers another way to price, collect, and settle in Korean won through onchain infrastructure.

Connecting KRWQ to ONEchain
The first step is to connect KRWQ to ONEchain via the ONEchain bridge on BNB Chain. This would make KRWQ available within the ONEchain ecosystem and establish the infrastructure needed for the broader payment and settlement use cases being explored under the MOU.
The two parties will also explore potential KRWQ trading pairs with $ONEUSD and $ONE within the ONEchain ecosystem, supporting liquidity as the integration develops.
Exploring Payments and Settlement Through ONEPay
The partnership will explore integrating KRWQ into ONEPay as a Korean won-denominated payment option for the global ONE Store.
KRWQ will also be reviewed as a potential settlement and payout currency for developers and publishers on the global ONE Store. This would give participants another option for pricing, payment, and settlement in Korean won alongside existing currencies.
The MOU also includes plans to explore onboarding KRWQ-integrated wallets, apps, and mini-apps to the global ONE Store, expanding the ways users can access and interact with KRWQ across the ecosystem.
Why Games and Digital Content?
Games and digital content offer a natural environment for exploring onchain payments. Transactions are already digital, often global, and take place frequently across platforms and markets.
NEXUS brings significant distribution potential to this use case. The ONE Store ecosystem has more than 38 million embedded wallets and over KRW 500 billion in online transaction volume. NEXUS is also building out its global ONE Store ecosystem across games, digital content, AI, and blockchain infrastructure.
Together, KRWQ and NEXUS will explore how Korean won-denominated payments and settlement can fit into this growing digital ecosystem.
βApplying KRWQ to global games and digital content is an important step toward expanding the real-world use cases for won-denominated onchain payments and settlement,β said Hyunkuk Chang, CEO of NEXUS. βWith the scale of the ONE Store ecosystem, we see an opportunity to connect Korean won demand with global digital content.β
Building the Onchain Korean Won Economy
KRWQ is a Korean won-pegged stablecoin developed by IQ and Frax Finance and issued by Brainpower Labs. KRWQ is pegged 1:1 to the Korean won and backed by reserves exceeding 100% of circulating supply, with reserve information publicly verifiable.
In June 2026, KRWQ became the first Korean won stablecoin to adopt Chainlink Proof of Reserve, enabling automated, real-time verification of its reserves and adding another layer of transparency to its infrastructure.
The partnership with NEXUS adds another dimension to KRWQβs broader role in bringing the Korean won onchain. Beyond financial markets and FX infrastructure, KRWQ can also serve as a foundation for exploring payments and settlement across digital economies.
Whatβs Next
The MOU marks the beginning of the collaboration. The immediate focus is on connecting KRWQ to ONEchain and exploring its integration across ONEPay and the global ONE Store, alongside the potential liquidity and distribution initiatives outlined above.
Weβll share updates as these initiatives progress!
